UPDATE – Theological Training in Utah

Not long ago I posted about a theological training process that is coming to Utah, featuring Bible, theology and practical ministry courses offered by webinar with mentoring provided by a local trainer.  (You can see that post here.)  I will serve as the local trainer / facilitator for the Weber / Davis county group.

More details are now available.  Along with the overall program description, the catalog and course descriptions are now online, as well as tuition information and how to register.

Right now it looks like we will have 2 cohorts in Utah, meeting in Taylorsville and Layton.  As I said, I’ll be leading the northern group.  We are open to developing more sites if we have qualified local trainers to lead the groups.

Contact me (utahadvance@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

Loving Utah – our sister ministry here at Utah Advance – has scheduled the next Utah Church Planters Summit for Thursday, October 3.  We will gather from 9am to 3pm at K-2 the Church in Salt Lake City, for prayer, networking, and sharing ideas about ministries practices.  We’ll send out more information about the theme of this fall’s event, but for now put it on your calendar.  We welcome church planters and spouses, leaders of reproducing churches, denominational and movement executives, and anyone interesting in seeing healthy churches multiplied in Utah.  If you want to be included on the mailing list, let me know at utahadvance@gmail.com.

Prayer Meetings for Church Planting

On Thursday, April 11 at noon, Loving Utah (a church planting network I work with) will host prayer meetings throughout Utah.  The goal is an hour of concentrated prayer for God’s work in Utah, especially for church planting.  We plan to celebrate new church planting efforts, pray for more people to accept the good news of God’s grace, for the strength of all the churches, and for laborers for this harvest field.

An Invitation to Church Planters

Gathering to Catalyze Church Planting in Utah’s Unique Setting

On February 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., we are co-sponsoring an event for church planters and spouses.  Paul and Jan Mitton will minister to us on the subject of Spiritual Warfare in Church Planting.  Paul is Executive Minister for Converge Rocky Mountain.  He and Jan bring a balanced approach along with valuable experience to encourage you in the spiritual battle you face as a church planting family.  The focus of this gathering is not just teaching, but ministry to planters and their families.  We invite you to stay afterwards for individual prayer.

Child care is provided.

At K-2 the Church: 193 W. 2100 S., Salt Lake City

RSVP to me at utahadvance@gmail.com, not later than Monday, February 20.  Specify your name(s) and any children (with ages) who will need child care.
